Gerald Ratliff As native to the Concho River Valley as the pecan trees that shade its banks, Gerald Ratliff grew to manhood on Ratliff Road in Tom Green County, 3 miles south of San Angelo. He graduated from San Angelo High School and obtained a bachelor's degree from North Texas State University. After being discharged as a captain from the United States Marine Corps, he attended the University of Houston Law School, graduating in August, 1967. He practiced in Houston, Texas for two years. He returned to San Angelo in 1970 where he has practiced continuously in a trial and personal injury practice; his practice is also active in criminal and domestic law. After leaving the law firm of Webb & Stokes in 1972, he became a partner in the law firm of Hardeman, Smith, Kever, & Ratliff. Gerald has continued to practice law at the same location for 39 years and has proudly watched it evolve into the present law firm of Ratliff and Edwards.
Ratliff is a former president of the Tom Green County Bar Association, a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Defense Criminal Lawyers Association, the Texas Bar Foundation, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association which recently named him a Stalwart.
Tim Edwards Tim Edwards is a life-long Texan, born in the shadow of the Alamo in San Antonio in 1946. The son of a Baptist minister, he lived in various towns throughout the state, spending most of his youth in Pecos, Texas, where he graduated from high school. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University (L.S.U.) in 1969 and got his law degree from Baylor University in 1973, while serving in the United States Army Reserve. He has practiced law in San Angelo since 1973 and joined Gerald Ratliff in this firm as an associate in 1975. He became a partner in the firm in 1978.
Tim is a former President of the Tom Green County Bar Association, a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Texas Bar Foundation, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Tim has been active in the community, serving as Mayor of San Angelo from 1989-1991 and, for four years prior to that, serving as a member of the City Council. He and his family are members of First Presbyterian Church of San Angelo.
